What to Wear for Tennis in Bali: Tropical Climate Guide
Dressing for Tennis in Bali's Tropical Climate
Playing tennis in Bali's tropical climate requires different preparation than playing in temperate countries. The heat, humidity, and sun intensity all affect what you should wear and bring.
Clothing Essentials
Lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics are essential. Cotton gets heavy with sweat quickly. Modern polyester or nylon blends designed for sport will keep you cooler and drier. Light colours reflect heat better than dark ones.
Footwear
Tennis shoes or court shoes are ideal. If you did not pack them, clean trainers with flat soles work. Avoid cushioned running shoes - the rounded soles increase ankle injury risk during lateral movements.
Sun Protection
Apply SPF 50+ sunscreen 20 minutes before playing. Wear a cap or visor to protect your face. Sports sunglasses with UV protection are helpful for serves and overhead shots when facing the sun.
Accessories
A sweat-absorbing wristband helps keep your grip dry. Bring a small towel for breaks. We recommend at least 1.5 litres of water per hour-long session in Bali's climate.
