Nutrition Tips for Playing Tennis in Tropical Heat
Nutrition for Tennis in the Tropics
Playing tennis in Bali means dealing with heat and humidity that accelerate dehydration and energy depletion. Proper nutrition becomes even more critical than in temperate climates.
Pre-Match Meal
Eat a light meal 2-3 hours before playing. Complex carbohydrates like oatmeal, whole grain toast with banana, or rice with vegetables provide sustained energy. Avoid heavy, fatty foods that slow digestion.
Hydration Strategy
Start hydrating the night before an early morning lesson. Drink 500ml of water in the hour before playing. During play, take sips every changeover. Add electrolytes if playing longer than one hour.
