Doubles tennis is a completely different game from singles. Success depends on teamwork, positioning, and smart shot selection rather than individual brilliance.

The I-Formation

The I-formation is an advanced doubles strategy where the net player crouches in the center of the court, directly in front of the server. After the serve, the net player moves to either side to poach or stay. This creates confusion for the returner.

Communication is Key

Before every point, decide who covers what. Use hand signals behind the back to indicate whether the net player will poach. Call out "mine" or "yours" on every ambiguous ball.
